. The experiences of Black women is a representation of what every american needs to know to understand the ongoing assault on our collective mental health rights. The attacks are unprovoked, unannounced, and timed to cause the most harm. When some of us have experienced the attacks or have witnessed other Black women under siege, all of America is under attack. Raye Mitchell has experienced the attacks and recalls, as a young law student at Harvard Law School, speaking in 1991 on ABC 20/20 about how poorly the United States Senate Judiciary mistreated Professor Anita Hill who testified at the Clarence Thomas US Supreme Court nominee. It was shocking then, and yet it persists today when the world witnessed the assault on now-Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.

On November 16, 2020, Olympic Gold Medalist Cindy Brown was evicted from her home in an unannounced, unprovoked, S.W.A.T.-raid-like tactical operation. More than twenty law enforcement officers arrived with unholstered guns and long guns at the ready to shoot if they decided to escalate the violence against one unarmed woman and her dog. What happened next was an incredible show of bravery by one lone Black woman who maintained grace under fire. She lives to tell her story
